Book Series Event on December 9, 2008
NEW YORK - December 3, 2008 - Historian and Harvard University Professor Niall Ferguson will discuss his new book The Ascent of Money— about the financial revolution propelling the world’s biggest countries, India and China, from poverty to wealth in a single generation—at an event hosted by New York University’s Center for Global Affairs, part of the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
Ferguson’s The Ascent of Money went to press in May 2008, but as The New York Times’ book critic, Michiko Kakutani, states, “It shrewdly anticipates many aspects of the current financial crisis, which has toppled banks, precipitated gigantic government bailouts and upended global markets.”
Ferguson will be interviewed by James F. Hoge of Foreign Affairs as part of the CGA’s ongoing In Print series of book talks with leading authors.
WHEN: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.
WHERE: NYU Center for Global Affairs - Woolworth Building, 15 Barclay Street, 4th Floor (Between Broadway and Church Street).
