As lovers of comic books grow up, they do not face the end of their animated interests, but rather the allure of genre: the graphic novel. In this panel discussion, two leading authors and commentators, Jonathon Ames and Jessica Abel of the graphic novel world will join Moderator Peter Sanderson—the noted comic book historian and adjunct professor at NYU-SCPS— in a discussion of the graphic novel and non-novels.

About the Panelists
Jonathon Ames: coauthor, The Alcoholic; author, Wake Up, Sir! Ames holds degrees from Princeton and Colombia in Fine Arts and Fiction, and has been a visiting faculty member at Columbia University and The New School.
Jessica Abel: author, La Perdida; co-author, Drawing Words and Writing Pictures. Abel began self-publishing her own comic series “Artbabe” in 1992, beginning a prolific career in comic and graphic novels. Abel teaches at the School of Visual Arts.
