NYU-SCPS Delves Deeper Into Web Development

The new Certificate in AMP Web Development, which begins in fall 2009, is yet another offering that keeps the Management and Information Technology’s curriculum current with the industry’s needs and the job market’s demands.

The program, best suited for Web developers with prior programming experience and a strong knowledge of HTML, was designed to help advance the careers of professionals in IT and to give them the opportunity to explore more deeply the advanced aspects of this area of specialization.

The new certificate covers the most widely implemented open source software components used for development of server-side Web applications: the Apache HTTP Web server, the MySQL multiuser relational database management system, and PHP, the server-side scripting language for producing dynamic webpages. The certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the three required courses, covering the three software components previously mentioned, as well as two additional electives, and one co-requisite class.
