1. Apply to Graduate
Candidates who are scheduled to graduate in May, must apply for graduation by February 8 in order to receive an invitation. Please note that receipt of a save-the-date card and/or an invitation should not be considered official notice of graduation. Such notice must come from the Office of the University Registrar. For information regarding graduation application deadlines, please visit http://www.nyu.edu/registrar/graduation/deadlines.html.
2. Invitations
Invitations will be mailed the third week in March to your address of record. If you do not receive your Convocation invitation by April 6, please contact us at (212) 992-9100 to verify your mailing address.
3. Attend 100 Nights Before Commencement
Attend 100 Nights Before Commencement on February 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Rosenthal Pavilion at the Kimmel Center. This annual fair provides information on school-specific graduation ceremonies, Commencement and Grad Alley, cap and gown rental, graduation photos, alumni associations, and a variety of other graduate-related resources.
4. Order Tickets for the NYU-SCPS Convocation Ceremony
Tickets for the Undergraduate Ceremony
Each participating graduate and candidate for graduation is eligible to bring up to four guests (graduates do not need a ticket). You will be able to reserve tickets online between April 1 and April 30. You will not be guaranteed tickets if you do not order in advance of ticket distribution.
Tickets for the Graduate Ceremony
Each participating graduate and candidate for graduation is eligible to bring up to four guests (graduates do not need a ticket), and will be provided with three ballroom tickets and one live simulcast seating room ticket. You will be able to reserve tickets online between April 1 and April 30. You will not be guaranteed tickets if you do not order in advance of ticket distribution.
Make sure you order and pick up your tickets.
Please Note: Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all tickets for the ballroom are allocated, remaining guests will be provided with tickets to the live simulcast seating room. We encourage you to book your tickets early.
5. Order Tickets for the NYU Commencement Ceremony and for Grad Alley
If you plan to attend the University Commencement and Grad Alley, you must order tickets between March 18 and May 10. Further details are available at: http://www.nyu.edu/life/events-traditions/commencement/tickets.html.
6. Order Academic Attire
Graduates and degree candidates who wish to participate in the NYU-SCPS Convocation and in the University Commencement ceremonies are required to wear academic attire. Orders may be placed online at: http://colleges.herffjones.com/college/nyu/.
DEADLINES:
- Undergraduate candidates must order academic attire by April 22.
- Graduate candidates must pick up their academic attire at the Midtown Center. For students to be able to pick up their attire at midtown—orders must be received online by April 15.
