The Class of 2013, their families, and their friends are invited to attend the 17th annual Grad Alley, a Commencement Eve celebration that recognizes the accomplishments of our graduates, on Tuesday, May 21, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
A carnival-type atmosphere is created along West Fourth Street, La Guardia Place, and the NYU plazas. Banners will serve as a guide while you stroll down Grad Alley enjoying many forms of entertainment including jugglers, mimes, Lady Liberty, games, and crafts. The campus on the Square is alive with an air of nostalgia and excitement.
Please Note: Grad Alley takes place rain or shine.
Eligibility
All graduates, and candidates for degrees and graduate certificates for the 2012-2013 academic year—specifically, for September 2012 and January 2013 graduates, and May 2013 candidates. Four Grad Alley admission wristbands—one for the candidate and three for guests—will be included automatically with each candidate's University Commencement tickets that were ordered.

There will be no separate invitations mailed for this event. Information will be included in the Commencement invitations.
Grad Alley Wristband Pick Up
Pick up your Grad Alley wristbands during Commencement Ticket Distribution at the Jerome S. Coles Sports & Recreation Center, 181 Mercer Street, between Bleecker and Houston Streets.

Invitation Eligibility
Invitations are extended to all graduates and candidates for degrees and certificates for the 2012-13 academic year—specifically for September 2012, January 2013, and May 2013. Invitations with instructions will be mailed in late March.
Guest Tickets
Participating students must order tickets online between March 18 and May 10. Please visit http://www.nyu.edu/commencement/ for up-to-date information on Commencement.
Diplomas
Diplomas are mailed to the graduates' permanent addresses by the Office of the University Registrar approximately eight weeks following the date of graduation. For further information regarding diplomas, contact the Office of the University Registrar: http://www.nyu.edu/registrar/graduation/.
Academic Attire
Graduates and degree candidates who wish to participate are required to wear academic attire. Orders may be placed online at: http://colleges.herffjones.com/college/nyu/.

Yankee Stadium-Specific Information
Single-frame flash photography is allowed. All forms of video and motion-picture cameras are strictly prohibited. Guests are also forbidden to use lighting or camera support pods at the Stadium.
Prohibited Items
No backpacks, briefcases, large purses, bags, coolers, glass or plastic bottles, cans, laser pens, video cameras, laptops, firearms or knives are permitted in the ballpark, and there is no claim check area to store any items. Beach balls, blow horns, and all other distracting noisemakers are not permitted.
The Yankees reserve the right to change or to modify these guidelines without notice.
The NYU Photo Bureau will offer Commencement Portrait sessions from May 14 through May 17, in the Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, room 405.
Hours: May 14 and 15 from 12:00 noon-8:00 p.m.; May 16 and 17 from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Portraits can be taken individually or with friends/family. Caps and gowns will be available.
Please Note: For group photographs with four (4) or more graduating students, bring your own caps and gowns.
The Commencement Portrait sitting fee is $15.00. It is non-refundable, and can be paid at the time of the appointment by cash or by check. Portrait proofs and portrait package rates will be e-mailed and mailed to you within a week. Package prices start at $27.95. Registration begins March 1, 2013.
