"Women in Finance" —a new, intensive one-week professional development seminar— will run this summer at the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies and help professionals gain a competitive edge in the current job market and prepare for the industry’s coming recovery.

Well-known journalist and political commentator Chris Matthews, host of the popular Hardball with Chris Matthews on MSNBC, will be interviewed by Jonathan M. Tisch, chairman and chief executive officer of Loews Hotels, at the 31st Annual NYU Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, happening May 31 to June 2, 2009 in New York City.

This year, at the 31st Annual NYU Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, the NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management will mark the 15th anniversary of conference chair Jonathan M. Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels, and co-chairman of the board and office of the president, Loews Corporation.

The Carnegie Corporation foundation awarded $250,000 to fund the Center for Global Affairs Scenarios Initiative. The grant will support the program's mediated workshop series testing alternative U.S policies on China, Russia, Turkey, and the Ukraine, countries that are expected to be critical to U.S interests over the next 10 years--as rivals, collaborators, and/or potential vectors of conflict.
