NEW YORK, February 8, 2011 - The Department of Humanities, Arts, and Writing at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies invites all new and experienced writers to a series of creative writing classes at the NYU Bookstore (between Waverly Place and Washington Place). Subways: N, R (8th Street); 6 (Astor Place).

Master teachers from the Writing Program at SCPS will be lecturing on a range of writing skills, followed by writing exercises and time for discussion. Afterwards, instructors will sign copies of their books and offer additional advice to aspiring writers.

Jeffrey Stanley, a playwright, screenwriter, and author of Tesla’s Letters and Medicine, Man. His plays have been commissioned by the Ensemble Studio Theatre and performed there and at LaMama, the Cherry Lane Theater, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and elsewhere.

Meredith Sue Willis, author of Ten Strategies to Write Your Novel, recently published by Montemayor Press, and numerous novels, short story collections, children’s books, and books on writing and teaching.
