NEW YORK, April 6, 2011 - The New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS) Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC) group will be recognized for marketing excellence at the University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) 2011 Annual Conference, which will be held in Toronto, April 6-9. UPCEA bestows gold, silver, and bronze awards for Marketing and Publications and Strategic Marketing to institutions that exemplify excellence and best practices in the fields of professional and continuing education. This year, NYU-SCPS will receive seven awards – three gold, two silver, and two bronze.
“We are absolutely delighted to be recognized for our ability to produce strategic marketing and advertising campaigns that effectively promote our School and its many programs in a highly competitive, rapidly evolving marketplace,” said Dorothy Durkin, associate dean, NYU-SCPS. “We are particularly thrilled that our targeted, interactive ‘Word Cloud’ campaign, which showcases the industries we speak to and reflects the expertise of our programs, received high recognition.”
NYU-SCPS will receive gold awards for its Continuing Education Interactive Campaign, in the Interactive Media category; its Master’s Print Campaign, in the Print Ad category; and its Business Expandable Banner, in the Interactive Marketing: Banner Ads/Animated category. Winning in these three categories also will put NYU-SCPS in the running for the Best in Show award, which will be announced at the Conference.
Silver awards will be presented for the School’s Master’s Interactive Campaign, in the Interactive Media category as well as for its Fall 2010 Master’s Postcards, in the Publications category.
Finally, NYU-SCPS will receive bronze awards for its Fall 2010 Continuing Education Campaign in the Broadcast Advertising: Radio category and its Summer Publishing Institute’s blog, poster, and booklet in the Publications Campaign category.

UPCEA recognizes its members’ outstanding contributions to the Association and to the field, as well as their achievements in innovative programming, marketing and promotion, community outreach and services, and research and development.
