NEW YORK, May 22, 2012 – The NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management, School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), today launched a new mobile application designed to keep attendees of the 34th Annual New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference (scps.nyu.edu/hospitalityconference) organized, informed, and up-to-date before and during the event. The mobile application is now available for free and can be downloaded directly to any iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, and other web-enabled phones by visiting m.core-apps.com/nyuhosp12.
“We strive to provide the best conference experience possible, and this technology will allow attendees to have almost everything about the Conference, including the program, workshop tracks, speaker information, instant session feedback, sponsor and patron information, hotel services, and more on their mobile devices,” said Bjorn Hanson, divisional dean of the NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management.
The NYU Hospitality Conference mobile application will include many features to help attendees stay organized and actively involved, including the ability to create customized schedules and tracks, rate Conference sessions, and provide immediate feedback after attending workshops. The mobile application also includes Twitter integration – which connects to a live feed of the event hashtag, #nyuhospitality – making it much easier for attendees to join the Twitter conversation during the plenary sessions.
The NYU Hospitality Conference mobile application includes features such as:
- Ability to create customizable schedules for Conference sessions, workshops, and personal meetings
- Access to speaker biographies and presentations
- Detailed Conference session information and workshop descriptions
- Session location information
- Full Patron and Sponsor list
- Twitter integration
- Access to the New York Marriott Marquis map
- Conference updates received as ‘alerts’ directly on the mobile application
- Ability to rate sessions and provide feedback on workshops
- Ability to make personal notes from sessions
Within Apple and Android platforms the application’s core features are functional without Internet access as a native application. Additionally, Blackberry phones can connect via a hybrid web-based application, while other mobile devices (including laptops) can still access the application via the same website, m.core-apps.com/nyuhosp12.
The 34th Annual New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference is hosted by the NYU-SCPS Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management (scps.nyu.edu/tisch) and sponsored by the leading hospitality organizations. Taking place at the New York Marriott Marquis from June 3-5, the Conference is the premier hospitality finance and development forum of its kind.
