NEW YORK, March 14, 2012 – The REIT Center at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate (scps.nyu.edu/schack) announced today that a star-studded roster of top real estate executives will headline next month’s 17th Annual REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) Symposium. The theme for this year’s Symposium is “Doing Deals in Volatile Markets.”
NYU Schack’s REIT Symposium, which will take place on Thursday, April 19th at the Pierre Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, offers a unique forum for sophisticated, high-level discussions among industry leaders. Over its history, the Symposium has become a must-attend event for hundreds of senior REIT executives, newsmakers, and industry movers and shakers.
James D. Kuhn, chairman of the NYU Schack Advisory Board and president, Newmark Knight Frank, will welcome attendees, and REIT Symposium Co-chair Adam Emmerich, partner, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, will introduce keynote speaker Ronald L. Havner, Jr., chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Public Storage, Inc. Havner also will be presented with the “Visionary Award” by NYU Schack Interim Divisional Dean Rosemary Scanlon.
“NYU Schack’s REIT Symposium has become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year,” said Scanlon. “Once again, conference speakers will share their views on current conditions as well as the progress of recovery in this vital segment of the real estate market.”
