Mastering English Program

The Mastering English Program is a dynamic, short-term English language program that provides a wide range of language courses and cultural learning experiences for international high school and college students, working professionals, and adult learners. The program's location, in the heart of New York City, provides incomparable access to the cultures of the world. We extend our classroom to the streets, offering you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the language and the culture with ease and with accuracy.

Mastering English is offered during the summer, fall, and spring terms.

The program cost varies by course and covers ​tuition and fees.

FALL COURSES:

Global Business Leadership: Offered in September & November

September 6 – 22, 2017
November 1 – 17, 2017

Global Business Leadership is a professional English language and cultural training program that teaches college-aged students the skills necessary to succeed in today’s global business environment. The focus of the course is on business communication, with particular attention paid to word choice, presentation skills, memos, cover letters, interviewing skills, and cultural considerations in a global economy. Topics covered include: marketing and public relations; finance, leadership, and human capital management; and entrepreneurship. The program is challenging, interactive, fun, and practical.

American Culture, History & Arts: October 2 – 20, 2017

This course is organized thematically drawing upon the New York City backdrop for English language learning content. Different themes covered in the course include: the geography and architecture of NYC, arts in New York, and the history and culture of some of the City’s famous landmarks, public spaces, and diverse neighborhoods. Participants gain language tools to navigate the City and to interact with real New Yorkers.
