The course examines the initiatives taken by civil society and by government to tackle barriers that prohibit development and growth in Argentina. Through site visits and briefings, students meet with a variety of organizations working in sustainable development. Organized lectures provide them with the contextual knowledge needed for analysis. The course can count as an elective towards the Certificate in Global Philanthropy or the Certificate in Global Affairs.
Site visits to organizations include those that are involved in microfinance, women's empowerment, anti-corruption, and the media such as:

- Help Argentina
- Recovered Businesses
- Mujeres 2000
- Local government
