Futures Lab leader Regina Joseph brings a wide-ranging research background to the Futures Lab at CGA, and will be establishing opportunities for students and partners in associated programs in her current futures research in such areas as:
- Future Security Research: Development work in structural analytical techniques and tools for intelligence analysis and forecasting, as well as forecasting platforms
- Strategic Foresight Studies: Joseph serves as a founding member of an International Studies Association Working Group on Strategic Foresight, with the aim of integrating the subject's distinct applied methodologies and use cases into the wider fields of political science and international studies
- Cognitive Computing: By combining an entrepreneurial approach with computer science basics, the Futures Lab promotes coursework and tournaments to encourage students to harness the latest machine learning resources, such as IBM's Watson supercomputer.
