The NYU School of Professional Studies George H. Heyman, Jr. Program for Philanthropy and Fundraising and The Chronicle of Philanthropy jointly co-sponsored a national survey of women who work full time at nonprofit organizations. The goal was to examine attitudes and perceptions about gender issues that may hinder the advancement of women in the nonprofit field, and how nonprofit organizations serve society and attract resources.
Harris Poll conducted the survey online on behalf of the Heyman Program from April 3-10, 2014, among a national sample of 644 U.S. women age 18 and older who work full-time at a nonprofit. Survey participants were selected among subscribers to The Chronicle of Philanthropy and people involved with the Heyman Program. Because the sample is based on a selected targeted population and therefore isn’t a random sample, no estimates of theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
