Welcome to Humanities, Arts, and Writing at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Our students enroll in our programs for a variety of compelling reasons—both personal and professional. They enjoy and benefit from a wealth of stimulating educational experiences within our classrooms and through our online program offerings.
Many of those who enroll have wide-ranging interests and take our courses to share an intellectual experience with others who are eager to engage in thought-provoking discussions, facilitated our talented and knowledgeable instructors.

Our online and onsite courses and certificates in writing, from fiction to journalism, can help you to build a portfolio for application to an M.F.A. program, to land that first freelance assignment, or to advance in your well-established career. Our courses and certificates in art business, art appraisal studies, arts administration, and art collection management and display immerse you in the ever-more complex professional world of the arts in which you gain essential skills and, industry-specific knowledge, while positioning yourself for entrée or advancement in the field.
If you yearn to find a creative outlet or to connect with individuals who have similar interests, we have courses that help you to explore and to refine your creative talents—through painting, photography, acting, or writing. At NYU-SCPS, you can pursue your creative passions in a supportive, encouraging environment and acquire the motivation and the discipline you need to learn, hone, and master your craft.
Programs are offered in a variety of formats, during the day, evening and weekends; online; and in accelerated formats.
