Opportunities and Outcomes

The field of marketing is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Emerging technologies and an increasingly informed customer base make it necessary for today's companies to address their audience in new ways. Companies are moving away from mass-market, product-driven marketing toward a more personalized, highly targeted approach. As a result, they need strategic thinkers with the skills to implement innovative marketing campaigns, as well as those individuals who possess a keen understanding of how to affect bottom-line results.

Experience itself is one of the key assets that employers look for in this industry, and through classroom learning, special projects and internship opportunities which this degree offers, you will acquire valuable hands-on expertise in integrating new forms of media into the marketing mix; launching, managing, and marketing products; and incorporating digital, brand management, and financial strategy into an overall business plan. As you learn corporate strategy and entrepreneurship, you also will discover how to apply your knowledge as a marketing professional in socially responsible ways, whether through campaigns for corporations; nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs); or through ambitious projects for local businesses or global conglomerates.

Career paths for our graduates include brand and product management for consumer and business-to-business companies; consumer behavior and market research analysis; advertising agency and digital agency management; database management; media sales; search-engine optimization; e-commerce, email, and social media marketing; and marketing analysis.
