Nursing Home Administrator Licensure

Five courses in the BS in Healthcare Management have been approved by the New York State Department of Health, Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, as meeting the educational requirement (Qualification 3) for individuals applying for nursing home administrator (NHA) licensure in the State of New York.

Students who intend to pursue licensure as nursing home administrators will meet this requirement through successful completion of the following courses:

Note: The course Nursing Home/Long Term Care Administration also fulfills Qualification 5, if successfully completed within the five years preceding licensure.

The BS in Healthcare Management in the NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies is deemed a "degree in the field" by the New York State Department of Health, Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, which confers added benefits to the NHA candidate, including a reduction in the amount of experience necessary to satisfy Qualification 4.
