A Digital Publishing Transformation Is Underway. Are You Ready To Be Part of It?

Over the last five years, the publishing industry has been radically changed by digital content and social media. To succeed in this business requires a unique blend of skill sets, including being able to create and edit content across multiple platforms, promote and distribute digitally, and bring new products and media to market.

Through the MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media, the NYU School of Professional Studies Center for Publishing provides you with the knowledge and skills to adapt, succeed, and position yourself at the forefront of this dynamic, evolving industry. Our program provides a solid foundation in magazine media and book publishing with a focus on digital applications. Ebooks, mobile platforms, and video—learn about all from a faculty of industry experts who guide your studies and connect you to invaluable professional networking opportunities. Gain a global perspective by traveling to book fairs and conferences around the world, and by participating in internships that can advance your career.

The Center's annual Summer Publishing Institute features workshops and strategy sessions, immersing participants in an intensive six-week exploration of book publishing, magazines, and digital media. The program is developed, designed, and taught by faculty members who are top professionals in the industry. In addition, through visits to digital content and technology companies, major magazine media companies, book publishing houses, and bookstores, Summer Publishing Institute students experience publishing firsthand.

Career advancement courses help industry professionals to master the basics of copyediting, finance, and marketing, as well as the latest strategies in digital publishing, whether they are already working in publishing or are embarking on a freelance career.
