Board Chairman, NYU Schack Institute of Construction Management
Frank Sciame is chair of the NYU Schack Institute Construction Management Advisory Board. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Sciame Construction, which opened for business in 1975. More than a few gems in the architectural marvel that is Manhattan owe their completion to the work of Sciame Construction, one of the city's preeminent builders.
In addition to his professional work, Frank Sciame sits on several boards, including The New York Landmarks Conservancy, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Alliance for Downtown New York, the ACE Mentor Program of America, Inc., and the New York Building Congress, where he is chairman of the New York Building Foundation.
Frank takes pride in his role as chairman of the NYU Schack Institute Construction Management Advisory Board. Having hired many graduates of the NYU Schack Institute Construction Management Program, he understands that the program provides its students with the expertise needed to effectively play leadership roles in a construction project or business. The advisory board brings together experts in the field to constantly review the program. All aspects of the program are continually evaluated against best current industry practices to ensure students have the knowledge and skills they need to address the current issues and developments in the construction industry.
Another responsibility of the advisory board is to review suggested seminars and panel discussions to be presented by the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. These events have covered topics such as BIM, industry market conditions, career opportunities, ethics, and risk analysis communication. The advisors tap their network of contacts for panelists and speakers and to attend career night events. The advisory board also employs their best efforts to solicit funding for student scholarships.
