Enoch Lawrence

M.S. in Real Estate
Alumnus, Class of 2000

From his undergraduate days leasing apartments at the University of Texas, to the recent completion of a graduate diploma in Islamic Banking, Enoch Lawrence has personified the ambitious spirit that has helped make the NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate one of the largest and most prestigious educational centers of its kind. A graduate of the M.S. in Real Estate program, and former president of the Institute’s Alumni Board, Lawrence believes that the master’s program in real estate is "ideal for the entrepreneurial student who takes the initiative."

For Lawrence, the M.S. in Real Estate is positioned far above programs of a similar nature. Among the many features that elevate the program to a completely different level is the fact that students have access to members of the prestigious Schack Advisory Board, which is comprised of prominent figures from all facets of the real estate world. Also defining the stellar quality of the program is the high caliber of the Institute’s adjunct professors, who fully integrate the business of real estate into the learning environment by discussing "actual transactions they have completed."

Today, Lawrence is able to apply the knowledge and the experience he gained while at the Schack Institute, in his role as senior vice president in the Capital Markets-Finance Group at CB Richard Ellis. In this role, he raises equity capital for developers, property owners, and institutional investors across the country and around the world.

When asked how students should prepare for the opportunities in today’s tumultuous real estate market, Lawrence insists that a solid foundation in valuation remains vital, adding, "Whether it’s a boom or a bust, it all comes back to value." The NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate builds this foundation by integrating the business of real estate into the learning environment.  In addition, Lawrence notes, Schack Institute of Real Estate students always will have another critical advantage—the "astounding alumni network that grows more powerful every year."
