MESSAGE FROM ASSOCIATE DEAN MARC NORMAN

Marc Norman serves as the Larry & Klara Silverstein Chair in Real Estate Development & Investment, and associate dean of the Schack Institute of Real Estate. He is a renowned urban planner and a 25-year veteran in the field of community development and finance. Norman plays a visionary role in advancing the Schack Institute’s established programs and new initiatives in the field of urban development.

The Hirsh Fellows Program

Each fall, the Schack Institute of Real Estate Hirsh Fellows Program enrolls 15-20 exceptional full-time students who earn a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) with a concentration in Finance and Investment.

Building upon the Schack Institute’s world-renowned graduate real estate curriculum, the Hirsh Fellows Program offers a highly specialized, one-year academic and co-curricular cohort experience that prepares students for management and executive positions in the real estate industry. The selected cohort begins its studies in late August, prior to the start of the regular semester.

Recently NY1 featured a story about the collaboration between the NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate, Taconic Partners, and the Fund for Public Housing that have joined forces and have launched a pilot program, which provides a cohort of 20 New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) high school students with an entry point to a commercial real estate career while introducing them to college student life.
