Opportunities and Outcomes
Opportunities
The global hospitality, sports, and tourism industries require professionals to be able to maintain and to champion quality service and satisfaction, manage human capital, personalize fan and customer experiences, and increase revenue for their organizations or entrepreneurial ventures. In the hospitality industry in particular, challenging economic conditions have increased the demand for professionals who understand the complexity of the industry—from labor negotiations and international security to sustainability and customer service.
As a graduate student at the Tisch Center, you will learn to become a strategic manager in a field that defies stagnancy. Upon completion of your studies, you will know how to respond to the opportunities and to the dynamics of the marketplace and be able to help guide companies as you identify appropriate strategies and implement best practice models that will drive success–whether for a single property or a global brand. In the process, you will develop an innovative philosophy that integrates clients, employees, corporate partners, shareholders, and host communities as key stakeholders in the creative expansion of the hospitality industry.
The M.S. in Hospitality Industry Studies provides students with the knowledge and the strategic skills to enable them to manage change, to communicate, to reason in a complex workplace, and to advance the business of hospitality, tourism, and sports.
