Undergraduate Admissions

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

To ensure a smooth application process, we recommend that you carefully review all the information about the application process and application criteria and components.

If you submit a complete application to the Office of Admissions, a written decision will be sent to you in the mail within two weeks of the date we received your application. The SCPS Office of Admissions does not provide admissions decisions on the telephone.

The State Board of Education requires that New York University has official transcripts (original documents in a sealed envelope from the granting institution) in your permanent file. Although we will review your file with copies of documents, all official documents must be submitted within the first semester of study. If you do not submit the required documents, you will not be allowed to continue your studies after the first semester.

All admitted students are required to take a math and writing placement exam. After you receive an admissions decision, you will take the two diagnostic exams. The math and writing placement exams are used as an academic advisement tool and will assist your academic advisor in setting up an academic plan. Students applying to A.A.S in Diagnostic Medical Sonography are required to complete the Math and Writing Placement Exams before admission.

In order to attend school for the semester of your choice, it is important to create a financial plan. We recommend that you fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at the same time that you apply to an undergraduate program. Applicants who wish to be considered for loans or scholarships must fill out the FAFSA.

Send your application materials to the SCPS Office of Admissions, including a nonrefundable application fee of $45 in the form of a check or money order made payable to New York University. Applications submitted without applications fees will not be processed.
