Scholarships for Continuing Students

McGhee students are eligible to apply for the following scholarships after their first semester of study.

McGhee Scholars Program
McGhee Scholars are selected each year based on academic performance, and application and essay, and faculty recommendations. McGhee Scholars are awarded $7,000 per academic year.

Application Deadline: May 31


Etta Kallman Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship was established to provide financial assistance for short-term, travel/study abroad for adults who, because of financial constraints and/or family and work conflicts, must usually forgo this enriching experience.

Bart Lawson Scholarship
This $4,000 award provides four credits of course work towards the Senior Project or Independent Study to students pursuing a B.S. in Leadership and Management Studies, a B.S. in Healthcare Management, or a B.A. in Social Sciences, with concentrations in Economics or International Studies, who are interested in working on a project aimed at enhancing the quality of life of the Grenadian people. Recipients who visit Grenada to work on their projects also receive reimbursement for travel expenses.

George Sideris Award
This $2,000 award provides students enrolled in a bachelor's program at McGhee with funds for living and travel expenses while conducting research on a national or international trip.

Icahn Scholarship for Single Parents
This scholarship provides $2,500 each semester to single parents with young children who are pursuing a B.S. degree or a B.A. in Social Sciences degree with a concentration in Economics or Organizational Behavior and Change. The award automatically renews every semester provided the recipient maintains the minimum 3.0 GPA and enrolls in at least 8 credits.

Bernard Osher Foundation Re-entry Scholarship
Specifically for adult students returning to college, this scholarship awards up to $2,500 per academic year based on academic potential and financial need.

Arthur Schlansky Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 award provides financial assistance to students working on degree-related independent research projects in the Social Sciences developed in conjunction with members of the McGhee faculty.

The Rosen Family and McGhee Financial Assistance Scholarship Program
The Rosen Family and McGhee Financial Assistance Scholarship provides financial assistance to continuing McGhee students. The award is based on both academic merit and financial need. Selected students will receive grants of $2,500 up to $5,000 per academic year. Applicants must have earned a minimum of 96 credits and demonstrate financial need.

Spring Application Deadline: November 15


Stenbeck Scholars Program
This scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing either a B.A. in Social Sciences with a concentration in Media Studies or a B.S. in Digital Communications and Media. Awards range from $2,500 to $5,000 each.

Shimkin Scholarship
This award is a $300 credit to the NYU Bookstore.

Applicants are automatically considered upon filing the FAFSA.


Wendy David Scholars Program
This scholarship provides funding for McGhee students pursuing a bachelor's degree while maintaining full-time or part-time employment. Wendy David Scholars are awarded $15,000 per academic year. Applicants must have earned a minimum of 96 credits and demonstrate financial need. The award automatically renews every semester provided the recipient maintains the minimum 3.7 GPA and enrolls in at least 8 credits.
