THE BART LAWSON ALUMNI AWARD FOR SERVICE
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) encourages social responsibility and
recognizes members of our alumni community for exemplary accomplishments in the community and in
the industries they serve with the Bart Lawson Alumni Award for Service.
This award is in honor of Bart Lawson, an alumnus of the School of Continuing and Professional
Studies,
Paul McGhee Division, philanthropist, and
active member of the community.
Awards are distributed in the following categories—click on the appropriate category for
nomination forms:

Public
Service
This category recognizes recent alumni who have developed an innovative approach to a
social, educational, environmental, health, economic, or legal issue within a community.

Professional Service
and Outreach
This category recognizes a member of our alumni community who connects his or her expertise
and scholarship with community outreach.

Humanitarianism
This category recognizes the extraordinary contributions of our alumni to the education of
others in the need for participation in service, and alleviating human suffering anywhere in the
world.
AWARD DISTRIBUTION
The Bart Lawson Alumni Award for Service is presented annually during
NYU’s Alumni Weekend, which takes place in May.
Please complete the appropriate form and include your personal statement about the candidate,
along with any other documentation that relates directly to the award criteria that you wish the
