CERTIFICATE IN AUDITING

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, along with other recent legislation, has increased the requirements for public companies and auditors with respect to financial reporting, internal control, and disclosure. These changes have created a marked increase in the demand for audit professionals. The certificate is designed for professionals seeking to learn the issues and develop the skills related to the auditing of financial reports and financial statements. A fundamental knowledge of financial accounting and reporting is suggested.

Upon completion of the program, students have covered:

  • Audit risk analysis, planning audit engagements, and audit reports.
  • Internal auditing and managerial, finance, and operational controls.
  • Financial ratios and other analytical techniques.
  • The key techniques in preventing fraudulent financial reporting.
  • Analyzing financial statements for indicators of financial fraud and other related problems.
