EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
NYU is one of this country’s largest and most prestigious research universities. It offers vast
resources and opportunities for interaction and for enhancing study. ALI students are invited (and
encouraged) to engage in the various activities available to them at NYU: membership in the Jerome
S. Coles Sports Center and Palladium Athletic Facility, exhibits at the Grey Art Gallery and
Washington Square East Gallery, facilities and events at the Kimmel Student Center, productions at
the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, lectures and events at the University’s 13
international houses, use of the multiple resources at the Bobst Library and its Avery Fischer
Center for Music and Media, and University-sponsored lectures series—just to name a few.
Tickets to concerts and plays, tours of the city and nearby states, and visits to American
homes are all available to ALI students at no charge or at a minimal cost. Institute students also
enjoy coffee hours, parties, and other informal get-togethers.
