This program is a thrilling experience for anyone who loves theatre. In the morning, students learn about the history of Great Britain’s exciting theatre scene from World War II until the present, a golden age when audiences were introduced to some of the world’s most influential playwrights.
In the evening, participants attend at least nine new productions in London's West End—and the occasional Off-West End and/or Fringe playhouse productions. Previous classes were the first to see award-winning international hits like War Horse, Billy Elliot, and Jerusalem, as well as productions starring such luminaries as Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Vanessa Redgrave, Kevin Spacey, and Mark Rylance, in some of the world's great theatres, such as the Royal National, the Old Vic, and Donmar Warehouse.
Housing The program fee includes accommodations at NYU in London (private rooms with private bath and fully stocked kitchens in Central London), all theatre tickets, and admission for any other theatre-related afternoon activities; it does not include airfare.
