CERTIFICATE IN JOURNALISM

The Certificate in Journalism provides training in the highly dynamic field of journalism--digital and print--as it is currently practiced. By offering a sequence of required and elective courses, the certificate allows students to compile a portfolio of journalistic work, develop career goals, and acquire the skills necessary to pursuing a career as an online or print journalist in the 21st century. This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the four required courses and three 5-session electives or the equivalent from the Journalism section. Additional courses are offered in the summer and fall semesters. Reporting, Researching, and Writing the News/WRIT1-CE9515 is a suggested prerequisite for all other courses.
