M.S. in Digital Imaging and Design

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Digital imaging techniques find their application in a rapidly growing number of industries. Of course, the most popular is the entertainment industry. Animation, film, video games, commercials, and broadcast media all utilize digital imaging techniques to pursue new ideas which could not be produced any other way.

With the growing number of small and mid-sized production companies comes a growing demand for digital artists. Companies are working closely with schools again in order to identify the best among the future generation of junior artists. Highly developed production pipelines, proprietary technology, and market competition set high standards for everyone starting their first job in the industry.

CADA concentrates on the specific needs of the industry and works closely together with professionals to optimize the curriculum and teach the theoretical and practical concepts of digital imaging and design essential for a successful career. All professions in digital imaging and design eventually serve one purpose: enabling the visual artist to express ideas and communicate a message through story and concept. An idea for a story, drawings, sketches, sculptures, and storyboards are the basis for what finally becomes executed in digital media.

Our curriculum concentrates on the most important conceptual steps in digital production; the art, the techniques, and the principles that allow the digital artist to explore ideas, master new challenges, and adapt to any customized production environment in the industry. It is the creative mindset and the deep understanding of the concept of digital imaging and design that allows the artist to create innovative and exciting films and animations in a highly technological setting.
