STUDENT AFFAIRS

NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL EVENTS

Networking opportunities are an important part of the graduate program, and we maintain strong connections that serve your career goals well. Individual consultations with advisers, discussions about job opportunities and trends, and access to alumni in strategic positions are essential to the program. Through guest speakers, career seminars, and job postings, you have access to a range of professional services. Special nights museum trips and tours of professional facilities, like those of Acclaim, one of the five largest game developers, and the film production facility of DuArt Film & Video, provide an opportunity to draw on New York City’s vast resources. Through our extensive contacts in the profession, your formal education is augmented with a variety of events—including a lunchtime lecture series, seminars, guest speakers, special colloquia, social activities, and other professional events. These provide opportunities for you to cultivate a positive network of colleagues in different areas of the industry and offer you access to first-person voices, opinions, and expertise.

SCPS OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
The SCPS Office of Student Affairs offers a wide variety of programs and services designed to help our diverse student population make the most of their NYU experience and grow within a community of scholars and fellow professionals. The Office of Student Affairs can provide you with information about academic resources, ways to get involved in student life on campus, and how to obtain assistance and support. From University and SCPS services to academic policies and protocols, there is a wealth of information with which to become familiar.

NYU UNIVERSITY-WIDE STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
In addition to the broad range of industry professionals and guest speakers you meet in the classroom, you are able to choose any of NYU’s 350 clubs and associations as your primary venues for student involvement, career networking, and meeting classmates with similar goals, interests, and hobbies. Even as a part-time graduate student, you are encouraged to participate in student governance, graduate student organizations, and special-interest clubs. As an active graduate student, you are invited to an extraordinary array of events and opportunities to expand yourself both intellectually and professionally. You may participate in school-wide or program-specific forums, seminars, and conferences offered by the School, as well as by other NYU schools and colleges and their affiliated professional associations. These types of activities add greatly to your student experience and enhance your networking opportunities.
