CERTIFICATE IN INTERIOR DESIGN

If you have a flair for interior design, this program presents the fundamentals and provides hands-on training in the discipline of designing interiors. Learn all aspects of project design--space planning, fabric selection, drawings, furniture specification, accessories, design presentation, and setting up jobs within time and budget constraints.

Upon completion of the program, students possess:

An understanding of design fundamentals, including color and light theory.
Knowledge space planning and furniture layouts.
Ability to execute professional presentation skills (sketching and drafting) and knowledge of business practices.
Practice with mechanical drawing and drafting.
Ability to solve design problems and an understanding of the needs for different projects--from corporate to residential.
Understanding of human factors that impact design for interiors such as scale, materials, and structures.
Knowledge of materials and finishes used for various projects.

To earn the certificate, an average grade of B or higher is required indicating successful completion of the eight required courses.
