Alumni wins Slamdance award and other honors with Heart of Stone documentary
Heart of Stone

NYU SCPS Design, Digital Arts, and Film alumni, Beth Kruvant, scores a heartfelt success with her Documentary, Heart of Stone, which has won the Audience Award, Slamdance Film Festival; Best Feature Film, Philadelphia Film Festival; Best Documentary Feature Jury Award, Cinequest Film Festival; and the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Award, Cinequest Film Festival.  Beth studied Documentary, Development, Research and Financing (X34.9425) with Thom Powers.

Heard of Stone has recently received three more prestigious awards:

  • Best Documentary Film: New Jersey International Film Festival
  • Best Documentary Film: Urban Suburban Film Festival
  • Award of Merit: Indie Pix

SCPS Film Adjunct is Tribeca Film Festival Winner

tribeca-award-logoHere and There, produced by Vlad Nikolic, an adjunct instructor in the NYU-SCPS Design, Digital Arts and Film department, won for "Best New York Narrative." Nikolic teaches Digital Video Production within the NYU SCPS Design, Digital Arts, and Film department.


"Not Just Editing": Adjunct comments in Post Magazine about training trends

Adjunct instructor Jim Geduldick, comments on post production and VFX industry trends in a recent interview with Post Magazine.

Regarding training required for the field, he says, "Editors need to know not just editing, but a little about graphics, about workflows, the cameras, a bit about the pipeline…especially if it involves visual effects.”

Adjunct a judge for Daytime Emmys

Johnna Gottlieb, NYU SCPS Design, Digital Arts, and Film, adjunct instructor, will be judging the Daytime Emmys for the third year on two panels, "Outstanding Performer in Animation"and "Outstanding Promotional Advertising-Episodic." Johnna teaches Voiceover: Beyond the Booth (X34.8111)


Faculty Member wins Emmy in WGBH Open Call

Clearing in the Fog

Noah Harlan, NYU SCPS Design, Digital Arts, and Film adjunct instructor, won an emmy award for his war time short, A Clearing in the Fog.

 

Alum Wins with SCPS-Made Film

Flavio Alves with Richard David Reade

Alum Flavio Alves won 2009 Las Vegas Film Festival Golden Ace Award for Even In My Dreams a film that was produced in the Filmmaking Twelve-Week Intensive.
