CERTIFICATE IN FINANCIAL PLANNING

This certificate has been designed to fulfill the educational requirements of the Certified Financial Planner Certification Examination, administered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Students learn the fundamentals of financial planning, including investment planning, income tax planning, financial planning process and insurance, retirement planning, employee benefits, and estate planning. A calculator proficiency exam is also included in the program.

Upon completion of the program, students have:

  • Satisfied the course requirements of the Certified Financial Planner Board.
  • Substantive knowledge and technical skills for professional competence as a financial planner.
  • Knowledge of all 89 topics mandated by the Certified Financial Planner Board.
  • Proficiency in the use of a financial calculator.

Tuition fees do not include the cost of required study guides and online exam fees in courses FP 2 through FP 6, which must be purchased by each individual student in order to qualify for access to the online final exam. CFP Board owns the marks CFP(R), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) and CFP (with flame logo)(R), which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.

This certificate meets all of the education requirements of the Certified Financial Planner Certification Examination, administered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. This certificate can be earned by successfully completing six required courses in the traditional on-campus setting with Option 1, or by taking Option 2, our Financial Planning - Web-Delivered (CFP ® Certification Education Program) course over nine months (live, instructor led, fully interactive) for one flat fee.
