This flexible curriculum offers three professional certificate options to meet the needs of students who are new to the field, particularly those considering an M.B.A. program, as well as professionals who wish to advance their expertise in a particular area of specialization.
The Certificate in Investment Banking is a foundation-focused program emphasizing core skills and competencies, which can be completed in nine months. Two Advanced Certificates in Investment Banking build on the core certificate with specializations in either Sales and Trading or Research Analysis. Upon completion of the programs, students gain an understanding of corporate finance, including expertise in areas such as:
Financial management and corporate growth, including the use of both internal and external funds.
Equity and debt financings.
Mergers and acquisitions.
Initial public offerings.
Corporate restructurings.
Joint ventures and other strategic alliances.
Derivatives transactions, including pricing and valuation techniques.
Securitizations.
Roles and perspectives of investment bankers and other transaction advisors.
The Certificate in Investment Banking is awarded to students who have successfully completed the five core courses. The Advanced Certificates in Investment Banking require completion of the five core courses, as well as three electives in the area of specialization.
NOTE: Students who began working toward the Investment Banking Certificate without specializations may complete their course of study in accordance with the requirements that were in effect at the time they commenced their studies with the University.
