CERTIFICATE IN PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
This flexible certificate program offers an introduction to investments for entry-level students, as well as a more challenging course of study for finance practitioners who seek to expand their expertise.Upon completion of the program, students gain a broad understanding of securities and investment management topics, including:
The operation of equity, fixed income, and derivatives markets.
Securities analysis, including equity and bond valuation.
Risk/reward tradeoffs and statistical tools for measurement of risk and return.
Portfolio asset allocation and performance analysis.
Technical analysis techniques, investments in securities markets outside the U.S., and other areas, as selected by the individual student. This certificate in Portfolio Management is offered with specializations in Equity, Real Estate or Fixed Income. Candidates must complete five courses from the required courses section and then take two elective courses from the candidate's choice of specialization. For candidates who wish both specializations, six elective courses are required.
NOTE: Students who began working toward the Portfolio Management Certificate without specializations may complete their course of study in accordance with the requirements that were in effect at the time they commenced their studies with the University.
