This concentration focuses on managing database technologies by developing the necessary skills and knowledge of the most widely used tools for gathering, storing, accessing, and using information.
The courses build on a basic knowledge of database management and design and examine data mining and data warehousing; database applications; the internal processes and structures of database management systems; the interface of web-based applications and database technology; the tools and techniques for developing database applications; information security management; and the functions and features of modern relational database management systems from a technical and managerial perspective.
Using case studies and working in the lab, this concentration provides a strong command of the competitive business advantages inherent in effectively managing information, a key resource in business today.
