CERTIFICATE IN AMP WEB DEVELOPMENT
This certificate covers the most widely implemented open source software components used for development of server-side Web applications. Students learn about the Apache HTTP Web server, the MySQL multi-user relational database management system, and PHP, the server-side scripting language for producing dynamic webpages. Taken together, these three components provide powerful open source tools for developing and running server-side Web applications. Students also select elective courses from a list of additional software courses to round out their Web programming skills. This program is best suited for Web developers with prior programming experience (e.g.: VB, Perl, C, C++) and a strong knowledge of HTML. This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the three required courses, two additional electives, and one co-requisite class. Students can select a Windows or Linux-based track (WAMP or LAMP).
Students can also fulfill the elective requirement if they have taken two of the following courses and they have not been used toward any other certificate: X52.9545/Unix I, X52.9548/Unix II, X52.9560/Unix III, X52.9543/Perl.
