CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY
This program is designed to provide information security professionals and technologists requiring security training with the skills they need to succeed in their professional disciplines. The certificate is built on a curriculum to augment security skills with best practices and pragmatic techniques that can be applied by security professionals. The curriculum includes courses to expand the security professional's knowledge and technical skills, to support the maintenance of certification, and to enable security professionals and those training to be security professionals to pursue a certification.
Upon completion of the certificate, students have:
Knowledge of fundamental concepts for information systems security including access control, administration, audit and monitoring, risk, response, and recovery. Expanded technical knowledge for implementation of multiple technology environments including client/server, Web, mainframe, wireless, and RFID.
This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the required material by taking Option 1 in one semester or Option 2. Option 2 includes two required courses, followed by two electives.
