CERTIFICATE IN UNIX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
The UNIX operating system is widely used in the corporate environment to run multiuser enterprise software. System administrators support users and services in a UNIX-based network. With this certificate program, you can leverage your prior experience in programming, operating systems, and networking technologies to develop expertise specific to managing UNIX networks.
Upon completion of this hands-on program, you are able to:
Competently manage a UNIX system. Install, configure, and maintain servers and system software on a local-area network. Ensure systems security updates. Manage storage, backup, and restore operations; user accounts; domain name service; network file systems; and peripherals handling. Utilize the UNIX programming environment, shell scripting, job scheduling, and execution.
This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the required courses in Option 1 or Option 2. Option 2 includes one elective.
