CERTIFICATE IN WEB DEVELOPMENT

Every organization today must have a presence on the Web. Each website requires a developer who determines a strategy for making effective use of the Web; architects, designs, and programs the webpages; and maintains the site so that it meets business needs and viewers keep coming back to it. This certificate focuses on the technical aspects of Web development.

Upon completion of the program, students are able to:

• Assume responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of successful Web-based solutions.
• Program interactive websites using technologies and languages, including CSS, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and XML.
• Create sites that are easy to maintain.
• Optimize sites for search engines.

This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the required courses in Option 1, Option 2, or Option 3. Option 2 includes two electives; Option 3 includes three electives.
