As a business professional, I have always believed in the importance of developing a specialty because it allows you to add immediate value to almost any organization. In looking for a master’s program that could further my career, I wanted to find a specialization that could stand the test of time through any economic cycle. I chose the M.S. in Integrated Marketing (formerly Direct and Interactive Marketing) program because it represents the creative and scientific sides of marketing, both of which are critical to the success of any marketing program.

Because direct marketing is accountable and measurable, it is rapidly becoming a large component of marketing plans across all industries. I found the direct and interactive marketing faculty at NYU to be one of the most compelling aspects of the program. As industry leaders, my professors brought the right mix of marketing theory and practical application, making every lesson immediately useful. I am able to apply much of what I learned in the classroom to my daily responsibilities as vice president of client services at HNW, a boutique marketing services firm. In addition to leading a number of our clients’ marketing initiatives, I am also helping to develop our direct marketing capabilities. The skills and knowledge that I acquired in the direct and interactive marketing program have helped me to become a confident and effective leader.
