"Through the master’s program, I’m taking what I’m learning in class and literally applying it the next day at work."

Seven years ago, when I completed NYU’s direct marketing certificate program at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, I made a huge career change and started working in the online industry, first at an online marketing agency and then later at Avon.com. Now I’m at Lancôme, where I manage all of the activities related to acquiring customers online, including third-party partnerships and programs, driving sales and qualified members into our e-mail database for remarketing. I manage and monitor the programs from start to finish, including impression delivery on the partner’s site and the click-through rate to the Lancôme site, the conversion rate and new customer acquisition, and the sales volume and average order that the promotion generated.

Now that I’ve established myself in the online and direct marketing industries, I plan to move up in the industry and eventually hold an executive level position. Through the master’s program, I’m taking what I’m learning in class and literally applying it the next day at work. The online world is still a relatively new industry, and it’s constantly evolving. In class, I’m being exposed to topics that are brand new to me through both the curriculum and through my peers. We collaborate and work on group projects, and, even beyond our assigned projects, we have formed a network of friends who help each other professionally.
