INTERNSHIPS
Students who are interested in building or enhancing their experience in the field of marketing
are encouraged to do internships during their graduate studies in this program.
All of our courses are in the evening, so that those students who are not working while
attending school have the day free for interning. In some cases, internships serve as a point of
entry to subsequent full-time positions. In all cases, they provide opportunities to apply the
learning from the coursework in the M.S. in Integrated Marketing program and to build real-world
experience.
Since some companies require that students receive academic credit for an internship, we offer
an Internship as Elective course, which students can take for one or more semesters. Internship is
not a requirement for the degree because many of our students continue to work full time throughout
their graduate studies.
Here are just some of the services we provide to support you in your selection of
appropriate internships:
Internship Advisement: The Academic Director is available to advise students on
internships in specific areas of interest. In addition, the alumni from the graduate program serve
as Alumni Mentors to our students and assist with internships.
Internship Opportunity Postings: Companies contact us to request interns, and we
post opportunities for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. All listings are special requests
for applications specifically from our graduate students. These postings are sent by e-mail to all
students who are enrolled in our graduate program.
Recent internships have included the following companies:
- Avenue A/Razorfish
- G2 Direct & Digital
- Microsoft
- MTV
- Ogilvy
- Redcats U.S.A.
- Return Path
- Sirius Satellite Radio
- Time, Inc.
- 24/7 Real Media
Career Events: Our VIP Lunch Dialogue events, held throughout the Fall and Spring
semesters, provide regular opportunities for students to meet senior executives from a wide range
of companies in Search, E-Mail Marketing, E-Commerce, Web Analytics, Direct Marketing, Business to
Business, Consumer Marketing, and Direct/Brand/Digital Advertising Agencies. In addition, our
career-development events with New York-area companies are specifically designed for students to
network with speakers about internship and full-time employment opportunities. Our most recent
career-development event was on February 4th, with Microsoft, one of the companies where our
students have interned.
