The Paul McGhee Division

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES

While at McGhee, our students find their lives transformed in many ways—more ambitious goals, new intellectual interests, and the ability to present themselves more confidently in their careers and lives. To help realize their potential to its fullest, we offer current students advisement, tutoring, special courses, and a host of other academic support services.

From day one, you are assigned an advisor who orients you to NYU. A faculty advisor assists you in decisions regarding your chosen major or concentration. If you find that you need to bolster your writing, grammar, and mathematic skills, we offer noncredit classes—some at no additional charge—to help you build confidence in these academic areas. One-on-one tutoring sessions in writing, math, and economics are available at no charge. We also cater to special situations for students who need to take classes without enrolling in degree programs.

At McGhee, we respect the life and academic experiences that each individual brings. Therefore, we offer opportunities to earn credit in several ways: from credits transferred from other colleges and universities, through college-level proficiency exams, and even for experience acquired outside of academic settings.
