The Paul McGhee Division offers students the opportunity to earn elective credits by registering for an internship in their area of study. To qualify for an internship, you must have completed at least 60 credits with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. You may also fulfill the Senior Project requirement of your degree program by completing an internship. To qualify for a Senior Project Internship, you must have completed at least 90 credits, including 16 credits of concentration coursework and 8 credits of Method and Theory (B.A.), with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Internships require a minimum of 6 hours per week of on-site work, although it is common for a sponsor to ask for more. Interns meet with a McGhee Internship Coordinator several times over the course of a semester. In addition, Senior Project interns are required to attend 6 class meetings with other interns. Some written requirements also apply.
You can search for your own internship opportunity or ask a McGhee Internship Coordinator to help you find one. You must submit a written internship proposal, which is evaluated based on the following criteria:

McGhee students also have access to the many internship resources offered by NYU’s Wasserman Center for Career Development. Visit www.nyu.edu/careerdevelopment for more information and online internship listings. Students pursuing an unpaid internship with a not-for-profit organization may be eligible for the Wasserman Center’s Funded Internship Award.
