SPECIAL COURSES

For students who are starting out or returning to the classroom after a long break, the Department of Academic Advising and Student Services offers a series of noncredit academic skill courses every semester. Each course takes into account that adults learn differently than traditional-age college students and that accumulated experiences are a considerable asset to learning. Courses cover the academic skills you need in college: writing, grammar, and mathematics. If you have been away from college for a while, these preparatory classes bolster confidence. You may take some of these classes at no additional charge if you are already registered for credit courses; however, the noncredit courses do not apply toward degree completion.
