A.A.S. in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org), the national accrediting agency for degree programs in this field, upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Upon successful completion of the program, you are eligible to sit for the American Registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examination in adult echocardiography, abdominal sonography, OB/GYN sonography, and the corresponding physics and instrumentation examinations. The core requirements are available on a part-time, evening schedule. The professional studies requirements, which begin in the fall semester, are consolidated into a full-time day program combining both classroom and clinical components that meets at least two days a week in the first semester and five days a week in the following four semesters. Access to the Internet is required. Please note that all students must pass a physical examination and be certified in a professional CPR course before they are permitted to attend a clinical affiliation. Applications for this program are only accepted for the fall semester. The deadline for applications is April 15.
