Please note that the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is being moved to Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org), the national accrediting agency for degree programs in this field, upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Upon successful completion of the program, you are eligible to sit for the American Registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examination in adult echocardiography, abdominal sonography, OB/GYN sonography, and the corresponding physics and instrumentation examinations. Students must complete Writing Workshop I, Math I, Physical Science: Healthcare, and Anatomy and Physiology for Allied Health prior to taking the professional studies requirements.
The following courses may be required based on writing placement assessment, and should be successfully completed within the first three semesters.
