Students who have completed between 40-64 credits at McGhee or at another regionally accredited university may be able to complete a degree online in one of two disciplines:
In addition to course requirements within the discipline of study, the McGhee Core Curriculum is required of all degree students. Because not all core courses are available online at this time, students interested in pursuing a degree online must have satisfied the equivalent of the following McGhee requirements before beginning McGhee coursework:
Students interested in completing the B.S. in Leadership and Management Studies with a concentration in International Business, Human Resource Management, or Organizational Management and Development online must have also completed two of the following courses or their equivalent before beginning McGhee coursework:
The NYU-SCPS Office of Admissions will review transcripts e-mailed to mcgheeadmissions@nyu.edu or faxed to (212) 995-4674 to determine a student's eligibility for online degree completion before they begin the application process. You must include a cover sheet with all transcripts submitted for review. Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended must be received for an evaluation of eligibility to be completed. Generally, transfer credits are awarded for courses in which the student received a grade of C or better, provided that the credits fit into the student's selected program of study and were completed at a regionally accredited university.
McGhee offers a variety of degrees on-site. Students may still apply to on-site McGhee programs even if they do not meet the requirements for online degree completion. All students have the option of taking some courses online.
Upon admission, all McGhee students are required to take the College Board Accuplacer WritePlacer test and the College Board Accuplacer Elementary Algebra test. Bachelor of Science students must also take the College Board Accuplacer College-Level Math test. Placement exam results determine the transferability of previous Math and Writing courses. Your academic advisor at McGhee will work with you to locate an exam site convenient to your location.
