NYU STUDENT RESOURCES

The NYU Student Health Center is a primary care unit with medical, nursing, and laboratory facilities. The Center has a full-time medical staff, and specialists are available for consultation by appointment. Counseling services are offered as well. Students may use the medical insurance issued by the University at this facility.

The Henry and Lucy Moses Center for Students with Disabilities provides services to all NYU students with documented disabilities. The Center offers sign language interpreters, readers, tutors, note takers, and other aides, as well as assistance with registration, housing, and testing and various programs and workshops.

The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) assists international students with all matters of special concern to them and serves as a referral source to other NYU offices and academic departments. OISS sponsors programs and activities to help students adjust to the school and the city. The Office is NYU’s liaison to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. All international students register with OISS when they arrive and maintain close ties throughout their stay at NYU.

The SCPS Student Council represents McGhee students in formal discussions with faculty, administration, and other student organizations. The goal of the Council is to promote and encourage communication and interaction among degree students.

The McGhee Saturday Center at Washington Square provides students with a place to meet others between classes. Student aides and program advisers are on hand to answer questions.
